Paterson Equipment - Wet Side
Deservedly popular tank system, evolving from the 1940's prototype. Using a system of ball bearings to grip and draw the film in from the outside of the spiral. The spiral will adjust to any film format (even 127, although this facility is something of an apendix), and will take a full length of 220. It has a large diameter one piece lid and funnel which clips into place positively and securely, enabling the tank to be filled and emptied quickly. The Paterson 35mm tank takes a single 35mm film, the Paterson Universal Tank takes two 35mm film, or a single 120/220 film. Supplied complete with one 35mm/120/220 Auto Load Reel; Water-tight EVA cap prevents leakage during inversion agitation; Uses less than 300ml for a single 35mm film Paterson Multi-Reel tanks are supplied without reels so that a system best suited to the users needs can be built up. Plus points: Very easy to load, quick to fill and empty, invert agitation no problem as the push-on seal is very efficient. Downsides: the spiral must be absolutely dry or film will jam on loading: multi-tanks full of liquid very prone to cracking if put down too hard.
The Paterson Universal Tank takes two 35mm films or a single 120/220 film.
Multi-reel 5 - Takes up to five 35mm films, or three 120/220 films
Multi-reel 8 - Takes up to eight 35mm films, or five 120/220 films.
Quick and efficient film washing, Fits most domestic taps
Ranging from 45 ml up to 1.2 litres in the clear plastic cylinders, easy to measure volumes, although from the point of view of rugged-ness the Mixing Jugs may be preferable. If you need to measure very small volumes the range of syringes may be preferable.
The film squeegee has 4" blades, It is intechangeable, and spare blades are not available.
The print squeegee, designed for use with RC papers has 8" blades. It is intechangeable, and spare blades are not available.
Sets of two one white unweighted, one black and weighted. A useful attribute is that they attach to the film with two spikes, which pierce the film, rather than crimping it, which can distort the image area. Handy for drying sheet film, as one of the spikes can be used to hold the punched hole without having to pierce the film.
There are two thermometers in the range. The standard 9" thermometer is supplied in a plastic storage tube. The range is suitable for monochrome processing. The 12" thermometer is supplied in a plastic storage tube, and has an extended range covering the higher temperatures needed in colour processing.
Popular basic plastic tongs in sets of two, one white, one black. Need pressure to hold the print. Ends are not rubber protected.
Handy basic water filter, push fits onto taps using a rubber adaptor which will fit most conventional taps apart from new- fangled fancy ones. The filter guage is 20 micron - not amazingly fine, but good enough to get most crud out of the line. The unit can be unscrewed periodically to clear residue out of the filter chamber.
It's....well, a funnel.
Very useful when mixing powders, apart from stirring, as the flat bit on the bottom is designed to crush lumps of powder.
A laminar flow washer for RC papers, provides quick and efficient washing with minimal water consumption for relatively small print throughput. Two maximum print size units available.
