Zero Image Pinhole
Zero Image is a Hong Kong based company, producing a range of beautifully designed and finished pinhole cameras in a variety of formats, all of which we are stocking. All the cameras are made with exceptional attention to detail in selected high-quality teak wood. More than 15 layers of coating is applied by hand to each camera, to insure maximum protection of the wood. The metal parts are hand-turned, solid brass. A coating is applied to all of the brass parts to prevent them from oxidizing. All are gloss varnished with brass fittings, and supplied with a certificate showing edition number.Brass shim of 0.001" is used for pinhole construction, making the pinhole conform to a more accurate film stop number and yield sharper images. Every camera has its serial number etched on a beautiful brass plate, complete with a signed certificate of authenticity for its original design. All cameras come in beautiful gift box, and are accompanied with an instruction manual, including detailed illustrations. Some specially designed accessories are available to upgrade your Zero cameras. The basic 120 roll film model is the Zero 2000, while the 6x9 Multiformat offers 4 formats from 6x4.5cm through to 6x9cm.Zero Image camera, the new handmade pinhole camera, with its antique design, is an objet d'art ideal for private collections, and makes a perfect gift to celebrate the new millennium. With its revolutionary design, our camera helps you take pictures with special effects, and connects you to the boundless creative and artistic world of photography. The 35mm camera is also dual format, either standard 23x35mm, or panoramic 23x45mm. All cameras are supplied with an ingenious exposure dial, which can be used to calculate exposure times using a reading from an exposure meter or camera readout. Cameras are supplied with both pinhole and zone plate. All cameras are fitted with brass tripod bushes, on both elevations in the 4x5” camera.
The most eye catching design has to be the Zero 4x5 model. The new Zero 4 x 5 Multi-Format System is the world’s first camera that combines pinhole and zone plate technology in one unit. It is the only pinhole camera incorporating the 4 x 5" format with a multi-focal length design available commercially. In the standard configuration this will deliver an ultra-wide image, and even though the body depth is only 2 cm, the 5x4” film is covered right to the corners, indicating excellent pinhole construction. A principal feature of the 5x4” design is the extension frames which can be used to increase the effective ‘focal length’ of the camera, and these simply nest into place and are secured with rubber bands, as is the dark slide (not included). To save money, it is recommended to select one of the packages rather than buying camera and extension frames separately. There are several packages available designed to meet your needs, the Zero 25B, Zero 50B and Zero 75B. Accessories or extension frames can be purchased based on the package you have selected. The aperture (f/stop) of pinhole camera is always larger than f/90, even you have an expensive professional light meter, it can't show you the exposure time. We designed this special exposure scale for you, it is easy to get the exposure time. (It is still necessary to use a light meter to get the reading of the scene firstly. The scale is made of 0.5mm brass. The numbers on the larger dial are the exposure time range from 1/8000 of a second to 15 hours. The numbers on the smaller dial indicate f/stop number setting range from f1.4 to f/500. Our special designed exposure scale comes with a lanyard to allow you to wear it around the neck, keeping it both handy and secure. It also comes with a key ring (not shown in the picture) for you to carry the scale as key holder. Or you can install the scale to your pinhole camera. Installation of the scale is easy, what you need is only a 2.5 drill bit and some glue. Locate the scale and fix it with the provided screws.
If you have your own custom-made camera and want your camera to be more professional, or if you want to take zone plate photos, use fast speed film, or infrared film, a cable release becomes essential. This adaptor (including the shutter) answers this requirement perfectly. Our uniquely designed Cable Release Adaptor is made of solid brass and hard wood. All of its component parts are machine milled and turned, not cast. With this adaptor, you can operate the shutter manually by sliding it open or closed. You may attach a cable release cord and trigger the shutter just like the "B" mode of an ordinary camera. This adaptor (including the shutter) fits any camera whose center hole (opening or pinhole size or zone plate size) does not exceed 1cm in diameter. It's size is only 5cm (W) x 4.5cm (H) x 1.3cm (D). Installation of this adaptor is accomplished easily. Simply drill three 2.5 mm diameter holes and fix the adaptor with the provided screws or use your own wood screws. It is a standard item included in our Deluxe Zero 135, Deluxe Zero 2000, Deluxe Zero 6 x 9 and Deluxe 612F. Cable release is not included!
After doing large amount of experiments and testing, we work out a zone plate set for different focal length with the very best effect. we chose the very best number of zones to get the best result. With this zone plate set you can take zone plate photo from wide angle to tele photo: 90mm, 135mm, 150mm, 180mm, 240mm and 300mm. This zone plate set is special designed for use with our Copal adaptor, simply cut along the edge of the zone plate and it will automatically be centered in the pocket of the copal adaptor. Of course you can use it with any of your camera. The Copal Adaptor shown in this photo is not included!
