Catechol is a slow but effective developer used as first developer in a 2-bath print process. The print is first developed in Catechol until the shadow areas are defined, usually about 50-90 seconds. Highlights are then brought up in the second developer, & the result should be better separated lower tones, with a shift towards colder tone.

SOLAROL Print Developer 2 US Quarts (1.9 litres)
£26.58
£31.23

Solarisation as a technique has been sidelined by what can be done on the computer screen, but the original method can yield fascinating and permanent results. Solarol is a print developer tuned up to assist the technique; it doesn't do it for you, a flash exposure is still required about one third of the way into the development stage. Full instructions are supplied. The developer is supplied in a sealed metal tin, requiring opening with a standard tin opener, and makes 2 US quarts (1.9 litres) which is then used diluted 1+1.

FOMA Universal Developer 1 litre
£2.28
£2.68
 Update Basket

A small powder packing of developer which can be used for either negative or print development. Mixes to 1 litre, which is used undiluted for prints, and used one-shot at 1+3 for film development. Negative development will not be on a par for quality with a dedicated film developer, but a single developer can be useful both in space and economy, in the field, or maybe for educational use.

CENTRABROM Soft-Wkg Print Dev. 1 litre
£7.25
£8.52
 Update Basket

Soft-working print developer in convenient liquid form, diluting 1+9 for use with fibre-based papers. Higher concentration is recommended for RC paper, presumably to 'swamp' the effect of any incorporated developing agents in the paper.
