Moersch System

Wolfgang Moersch manufactures a range of sophisticated black and white chemistry, covering every specialised requirement in film and paper processing.
State of the art general purpose print developer. Normal dilution 1+14, dev. time 2.5-3 minutes.
Special developer for warm-tone papers, the image produced is a warmblack. Light selenium toning (dilution between 1+100 to 1+200) produces a sepia tone and increases the maximum black. Longer toning will produce a colder brown.
Universal developer for all paper emulsion types. The developer works very quickly with a development time of around 60 to 75 seconds at 20°C using the normal 1+9 dilution. This dilution, however, is only recommended for processing Resin Coated (RC or PE) papers or for impatient Fibre Based (FB or Baryta) workers. It produces a neutral to warm tone image which is highly dependent upon the particular paper being used; with Cold Tone papers or those with developer accelerators within the paper itself, the tone is neutral to warm with a tendency towards the green. Warm Tone papers have brownish nuances if developed for not longer than 70 seconds. Above this and over 90 seconds the image becomes markedly more green. A light selenium toning afterwards (diluted to 1+50 to 1+200) will remove the greens and make the image tone somewhat cooler and release the deepest blacks. Due to the very high capacity of the developer the optimal dilution is 1+20 and a developing time of 2 minutes at 20°C is recommended. With greater dilutions increase the developing time. The working solution is highly stable and keeps in fully filled containers for a number of weeks. Dilution: 1+9 to 1+25 1 litre concentrate yields between 10 to 26 litres of working solution.
Powder print dev. for neutral to cold black tones, hydroquinone free & based on an ascorbic acid derivative. Image tone can be varied using the supplied additive. Designed to be used in conjunction with Moersch Separol Soft & HE, or as a standard dev.
Powder developer for warm black image tone, which can be controlled with the supplied additive. Ascorbic acid based. As well as single tray developer can be used in a 2 bath system with Separol NE, HC or Soft.
Liquid print developer for neutral/blue black images, degree of which depending on the paper used. Dense blacks with good shadow differentiation. The use of a cold working additive such as Moersch 'Finisher Blue' will shift the image tone even further to cold, or this could be a method of getting neutral/cold images from, a warm-tone paper.
Soft working print developer, supplied as powder making 1 litre of stock solution. Includes pack of 'Finisher Blue'. Can be as a single bath yielding soft warm results, or in a 2-part system with Separol NE, WA or BLUE.
Catechol is a slow but effective developer used as first developer in a 2-bath print process. The print is first developed in Catechol until the shadow areas are defined, usually about 50-90 seconds. Highlights are then brought up in the second developer, & the result should be better separated lower tones, with a shift towards colder tone.
High energy print developer supplied as powder to make 1 l. diluting 1+8 to 1+15. Ascorbic acid based. Designed to be used in conjunction with Separol NE, WA or Soft.
