| Kodak TRI-X Very popular 400 ISO film, basically unchanged for decades. The classic photojournalists' film. Enormously flexible in processing. Prints with a distinctive punchy snappiness. It was feared some time ago that it would be dropped in favour of the TMax 400, but it seems quite secure now. Available in all common formats, with the exception (in the UK) of 8x10". Sharp, tight grain structure, good film for pushing to a reasonable level. |

| Kodak TMAX 100 New generation 'T-Grain' technology, yielding very fine grain relative
to film speed. This is done using a tabular grain structure, and a high
degree of sensitisation. This requires more attention to the fixing stage
- to remove all sensitising dye. Approximately double normal fixing time
must be used, and the fixer will exhaust more quickly. TMax fixer is an
extra rapid formula designed to complement the TMax series of films. |

TMAX P3200
The ultimate in speed with existing technologies, not produced in 120 as apparently cosmic radiation would fog it without the protection of a metal cassette! 35mm format only, relatively fine grain considering the phenomenal speed, with the grain having a very sharp, attractive character. Can be pushed to 50,000 ISO (try setting that on your meter). Technical download as TMax100. |
