DIAPHOTO B&W RETOUCHING DYES

The black & white retouching media of choice had always been the USA made ‘Spotone’ dyes, which were infortunately discontinued last year. We are now importing an identical range from Schmincke, the German art ink specialist.

The Diaphoto dyes equate to the old Spotone range, there is a 3 bottle kit which covers every tone one is likely to encounter with normally processed silver based papers, and includes the colours jet-black (neutral), blue black and brown-black. If you are toning, you may need the extra colours in the 6 bottle kit; sepia-brown, van dyke-brown, and caput mortuum (selenium). All the dyes are available as separate bottles. Bottles are fitted with droppers for ease of mixing. The dyes are rather more concentrated than Spotone, so an initial dilution with water may be useful.

3 bottle kit contains: Neutral Black, Blue Black, Selenium Brown.
6 bottle kit contains an additional: Sepia Tone, Olive Tone, Brown Tone

FOTOSPEED DY15 DYE KIT

The Fotospeed kit contains a set of of 12 dyes, first choice if you need a kit for hand colouring and colour print retouching. The dyes supplied cover most of the colour spectrum and can be mixed to produce intermediaries. They are concentrated and are normally used with considerable dilution. Mixing and dilution instructions enclosed.
