ADOX PAPERS

ADOX FINE PRINT® NUANCE WARMTONE FB
Fixed grade neutral-warmtone fibre based paper on 300g support

Real warmtone photopaper with a true chlorobromide emulsion.
Slower in speed than neutral tone bromide papers yet achieving more highlight separation and highest brilliance.
The image tone can be varied depending on the type of developer used from almost coldtone to true warmtone.
Because of the extremely high silver content this paper needs longer developing times than other fibre based photopapers.
Even after 3 minutes in the developer this paper still develops additional highlight details. This new ADOX paper features a very good tonal range and an extremely high copy range (contrast range).
Nuance® will not let your highlights go - rather it differentiates in the finest “nuances” between white and zone 2. This paper needs to be developed for up to 4 minutes in order to give full highlight and midtone differrentiation due to its extraordinary high silver content. It does not “snap” as much as Museum or Polywarmtone - rather it works itself towards the viewer over his rich tonality in the light and medium dark areas. This makes it extremely suitable for landscapes and portrait work as well as direct copies from a large format negative.
It has a high silver content chlorobromide emulsion.

This paper is coated on the last remaining coating alley which was built especially for coating fibre based papers in the 1950's. It uses the vertical coating dip-process and runs much slower than modern horizontal speed-coating machines. Thus Nuance® paper can really soak up with emulsion making it extremely silver rich.
This also leads to the necessity to develop it at least 2-3 minutes in order to achieve full dmax and greyscales. The developer and fixer are also faster exhausted, please recalculate their capacity.
The emulsion is free of incorporated developing substances or additional optical brighteners making it suitable for alternative printing and lith/MLD processing. No fade out of optical brighteners over longer exposure to light.

It develops a superb tonality and slightly greenish colour in Amidol developers whilst achiving a DMAX over 2.2.
In normal working developer the G2 paper achieves a DMAX of 2.15 and higher.Speed and DMAX may vary over the aging period of the paper. They achieve best values about 6 months after production and decrease from then on.

Available in: special-normal (G2) and normal-hard (G3).

Speed: ISO-P G2: 125
Speed: ISO-P G3: 50

ADOX Fine Print ® Vario Classic® FB
Neutral black, variable contrast fibre based paper on 300g support.
glossy or matt

Neutral tone VC fibre based paper with deep blacks and excellent greyscales.
This paper is coated on the last remaining coating alley which was built especially for coating fibre based papers in the 1950's. It uses the vertical coating dip-process and runs much slower than modern horizontal speed-coating machines. The specification therefore includes the maximum emulsion coating weight the paper can carry, making it extremely silver rich. This requires full development to develop it at least 2-3 minutes in order to achieve full DMax and greyscales. The developer and fixer are also faster exhausted, please recalculate their capacity.
The paper´s emulsion is free of additional optical brighteners or incorporated developing substances thus making it suitable for alternative printing, two dish development and other processes. No fade out of optical brighteners over longer exposure to light.
