Silverprint customer Pete Davis has been awarded a grant from the Arts Council of Wales to produce new work in Wales looking at the social and historical landscape. The new work will build on many of the themes and ideas that have been at the core of Pete’s work over his long career. Using the medium of large format landscape photography Pete will be photographing in both urban and rural environments dealing with notions of social and historical changes to the Welsh landscape, history and society.

This work will be exhibited within the context of a major retrospective exhibition at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, opening in March 2017. Featuring work from nearly 60 years of his photography, representing every period of Pete’s working life and images from every major project he has undertaken, this provides a unique opportunity to see the new work as a logical but innovative progression of his documentary photography, which will add substantially to the range and styles of his work.

We congratulate Pete on receiving the grant and look forward to working with him over the next year while he completes this new project.

You can view more of Pete’s work on his website, and read his regular blog updates here.
